The Gilbert Scott

Lavish decor, a grand dining hall and sophisticated, vibrant food are just a few of the many great qualities The Gilbert Scott can boast of. I enjoyed a lovely evening here recently, including a kitchen tour and a contemporary English meal, at the restaurant in the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.   It was great to…

Farmacy

Detoxifying, immune boosting, alkalising, liver cleansing – you know you’re in for some sort of healthy spin just from a quick skim of Farmacy’s extensive menu! The trendy, plant based restaurant in Notting Hill serves up a great range of vegan and vegetarian dishes, free from refined sugars, dairy, additives and chemicals. And annoyingly reservations….

The Gate

Vegetarian food is not typically associated with fine dining, however the number of vegetarian or vegan eateries serving up high quality food paired with the popularity of health conscious lifestyles is trending. The Gate is one of the most well known veggie restaurants in London featuring a menu of varied flavours inspired by French and Italian cuisines. Overall good food and it’s always fun to dine at a restaurant where you can eat everything on the menu. Great service overall but a few dishes were mediocre and overpriced.

Foley’s

This is one spice trail you need to follow! Mitz Vora, former sous chef at The Palomar, has created an exciting menu of street food inspired dishes from all over the world. Foley’s in Fitzrovia is a party of flavours with artistically presented food and pops of colour. Great vegetarian selection. My highlights were the peanut crackers, sweet potato fritters, aubergine and baklava cheesecake. The service was excellent throughout the meal – our waiter was super friendly and helpful. Foley’s officially opens 1st July.

Balls & Company

A unique restaurant which has successfully made the casual meatball an elegant and playful dish. Delicious rich flavours and fantastic service. Although there is only one type of veggie meatball, all the sauce options are vegetarian and the vast selection of veggie sides/specials will not leave you going hungry. The dishes do look small but everything was surprisingly filling. I would recommend everything I had. I’m already planning my next visit to try the rest of the menu!

Bob Bob Ricard

I enjoyed my experience at this stylish Soho restaurant known for bringing a taste of eccentric Russian dining and a ‘Press for Champagne’ button to London. Arguably the veggie choices were slightly limited but I was pleasantly surprised with my meal in terms of flavour, especially with the humble pie. The lavish décor and elegant touch is memorable and I would definitely recommend Bob Bob Ricard for a special occasion to my fellow veggies.
