Tabun Kitchen

Street food and sharing dishes seems to be the thing nowadays. It’s ideal for a catch up or maybe we’re just greedy and like to try a bit of everything  to avoid food regret! Either way, I love that street food items are creeping into restaurant menus. There are also more and more places popping up in London solely dedicated to them, such as Dinerama or Kerb.

Tabun Kitchen is a lovely new restaurant in Soho inspired by Jerusalem street food traditionally made in a tabun oven. I had never tried this cuisine before and I’m so so glad I finally did! The menu offers a beautiful array of sharing mezze dishes as well as main meals and pizza. The simplistic décor and a view of the open kitchen (including the tabun oven) makes dining here feel authentic. The food is healthy and you can see everything being freshly prepared! The service here was also amazing – incredibly friendly and helpful waiters.

Dishes we shared:
Grilled Halloumi
Moutabal Smoked Aubergine Dip
Jerusalem Falafel
Homemade Labaneh
Udssieh, Jerusalem style
Vegetarian Maftool Cous Cous Salad
Vegetable Makloubeh
Fattoush Salad
Hummus

I came here with a couple of friends to celebrate one of their birthdays. We used the TimeOut offer which was great value including four mezze plates OR a main meal, a side and a cocktail for £20. This was way more than enough food and a great way to try a variety of Tabun Kitchen’s specialities. The mezze dishes on the menu were mostly vegetarian so veggies will have zero problems here! Delicious food, fresh flavours and lovely presentation. I was very impressed with my meal here and can’t wait to go back!
